Sidekick’s Deal Rooms feature enables automatic creation of a Slack or MS Teams channel when a Deal is created on your HubSpot. Deal Rooms help create real-time visibility and increase sales velocity.
In this article, we’ll go over how to enable and configure Deal Rooms, as well as how to view your active Deal Channel mappings.
How To Turn On Deal Rooms Setting
To use this feature, the Deal Room setting needs to be enabled on the Sidekick platform first.
To do this, click on Deal Rooms on the top panel of your Sidekick homepage, and open the Settings tab on the left-side panel.
Simply toggle the button the right-side of the page on, highlighted in the image below.

How To Configure Your Deal Rooms
Once you have enabled Sidekick’s Deal Rooms setting, the next step is to define the configuration for future deal room channels that will be created on Slack.
Open the Configuration tab on the left-side panel.
Fill in these details:

Destination: Slack or MS Teams based on which communication tool you have integrated with Sidekick.
Description: This is the description template which will appear on deal room channels on Slack/MS Teams. Try to make this contextual for channel members by adding details like the deal name, amount, close date, or deal owner.
- To do this, first type your description message.
- Next, click on the Insert HubSpot Property dropdown button.
- Then, select the desired properties. Any standard or custom properties that exist in your CRM will be available for you to choose from here.
HubSpot Users: Define which stakeholders you want Sidekick to automatically add to Deal Channels. Any Users you have on your HubSpot will show up here (SDRs, Deal Owners, etc).
Filter criteria: Set filters based on which Sidekick will automatically create Slack Channels for deals that match the filter criteria.
For example, to create deal room channels only for deals upwards of $100K in deal size:
- Click on Add filters.
- In the first dropdown, select amount as the HubSpot Property.
- In the second dropdown, define your logic by selecting greater than.
- In the third dropdown, enter 100,000 as the deal amount.

You can stack up multiple filters by clicking on the and button for an and combination. Or click on the filter group button for an or combination. For example:
- Filter by deal close date being within 30 days.
- Or deep dive into Deals coming in from a specific Source, such as paid social.
Push Deal Notifications: Enable this if you want Sidekick to send all new Notes or Calls that are added on HubSpot for a specific Deal, to that Deal’s dedicated Deal Room channel on Slack/ MS Teams.
Click on the blue Save Changes button to finalize your configuration.
How To View Your Active Deal Channel Mappings
This page provides you an overview of all the Deal Channels that are currently active on your Sidekick account.
Open the Channel Mappings tab on the left-side panel.
The following details for each deal room are visible here:
- Deal: Deal’s name in your HubSpot. This is a clickable link that will take you to that Deal in your HubSpot.
