HubSpot helps log calls and emails, but when it comes to logging Slack conversations on HubSpot, things get tricky.
If your team is talking to prospects or clients on Slack, Sidekick’s HubSpot-Slack integration lets you capture that contextual data by logging messages from Slack thread conversations directly to HubSpot as Notes.
You don’t need to create or activate any Sidekick workflow to access this feature. Once you have completed your Sidekick setup, this feature will automatically be visible on your Slack.
Here’s how it works:
- Navigate to the Slack message and click on “More actions” from the panel on the upper-right corner.
- Select “Log message to HubSpot” from the options.
- Edit the message log if you want to.
- Choose the destination where you want to log the Slack message – Contacts or Deals.
- Choose if you want to also log the Slack message as notes on HubSpot to all the Companies or Deals that are associated with that Contact.
- Click on “Submit”.
- Look out for Sidekick’s success message in the thread conversation for confirmation that the Note has been logged into HubSpot.
Voila! You have now logged your Slack conversation as a HubSpot Note.
Pro-tip: This HubSpot-Slack integration feature only works for thread conversations in Slack Channels, not in direct message windows.
