This feature automatically logs conversations from Slack Connect Channels to HubSpot CRM, no copy-pasting or clicks required. This happens once daily, at the end of each day, not instantly – so your HubSpot stays clean and free of message clutter, while still capturing everything important.
If you use Slack Connect Channels to talk to partners, customers, or prospects on the regular, this daily digest of context is a must-have.
How To Set It Up
Step 1: Go to the Sidekick homepage.
Step 2: Click on the Auto-Sync Slack Connect option from the panel on the top.
Step 3: In the Settings tab, you’ll see two separate setting switches.
Step 4: Toggle the first switch on. A pop-up will show how many Slack Connect channels were detected. Click Confirm. With this, Sidekick will now auto-sync new messages received in the selected Channels every evening, and add them as a custom activity in your HubSpot.
Step 5: If you want to also create an AI-generated summary of the conversation as a Note linked to the associated Contacts in HubSpot, enable the Additional Settings option.
Step 6: In the left-side panel, select Tracked Channels. You’ll see a list of all public Slack Connect channels. These are tracked by default. To stop tracking a specific public channel, toggle it off.
Step 7: To track messages from private Slack Connect channels, you must manually add the Sidekick bot to each private channel on Slack.
Step 8: In the left-side panel, select Contact Mappings. This section displays your organisation’s current Slack-to-HubSpot user mappings. You can:
- Edit or Delete an existing mapping.
- Click on Update All Mappings to map newly created or edited users.
- Click on the red Resolve Conflicts button to manually resolve any instances where a user’s email ID on Slack Connect and HubSpot are different.
Once you’ve completed these steps, Sidekick will log all conversations happening in the selected Slack Connect channels on a daily basis. The log gets added as a custom Activity and Note, linked to associated Contacts, in HubSpot.
